Job Description

Pause Old Town is a modern wellness studio located in Chicago dedicated to promoting holistic health and well-being through innovative and traditional healing methods. At the core of our offerings are science-backed wellness modalities such as flotation therapy, infrared sauna, cold plunge, LED light therapy, compression therapy, and IV vitamin infusion. Our mission is to restore the human condition by combining cutting-edge technology with ancient healing practices, creating a unique wellness experience for our community. We are a rapidly growing company poised to become a leading wellness destination in Old Town and throughout Chicago, and we are committed to building a strong founding member community as part of our upcoming opening.

We are currently seeking an outgoing, organized, and community-driven Event & Community Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is integral to establishing Pause Old Town as a recognizable and trusted wellness brand in the local area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing various community events, partnerships, and grassroots marketing initiatives designed to increase brand awareness, foster community engagement, and drive sales of founding memberships. As the Event & Community Coordinator, you will be the face of Pause in the community, representing the brand at neighborhood events, fitness studios, wellness fairs, and networking gatherings.

Your responsibilities will include building and maintaining strong relationships with local businesses, fitness studios, residential buildings, influencers, and community organizations. You will identify and pursue new partnership and event opportunities that align with the Pause brand and enhance our visibility. Your role also involves educating prospective members about our services, mission, and exclusive founding member offerings to build authentic connections and encourage membership sign-ups.

This part-time position offers flexible scheduling aligned with the event calendar and community initiatives, making it ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys balancing multiple projects. The compensation ranges from $20 to $25 per hour, based on experience, with additional performance incentives tied to membership growth, partnership development, and event success. This role also offers complimentary and discounted access to Pause wellness services and professional growth opportunities within our expanding company.

In this position, you will be tasked with managing event logistics including setup, breakdown, inventory management, and promotional materials. Tracking and reporting on event performance, lead generation, and community engagement metrics will also be essential to evaluate success and inform future initiatives. We seek a self-starter passionate about wellness, fitness, hospitality, and community building, who is comfortable representing a premium brand and engaging confidently with prospective members and partners.

Candidates with prior experience in event coordination, community engagement, partnership development, experiential marketing, or hospitality will find this opportunity rewarding. Familiarity with Chicago neighborhoods and local community events is a strong advantage. This role requires a genuine extrovert who is warm, personable, detail-oriented, and professional. Evening, weekend, and event-based availability are necessary to attend and manage community happenings effectively.

Joining Pause Old Town offers the unique opportunity to be part of a fast-growing wellness brand from its foundational stages, making a meaningful impact in our community while advancing your professional journey in the wellness industry.
