We are seeking an experienced Event & Catering Service Manager to join our dynamic team. This full-time position plays a critical role in orchestrating and overseeing all operational activities related to banquets, meetings, weddings, and various other events. The Event & Catering Service Manager will be responsible for coordinating food services, supervising event staff, collaborating closely with chefs and venue partners, and ensuring every aspect of the event runs seamlessly from conception through completion.

This position requires a hands-on leader who excels in client communication, team supervision, and event logistics management. The successful candidate will act as the primary liaison between clients, vendors, venue partners, and the internal service team to ensure a flawless event experience. Key responsibilities include planning menus, organizing staffing, coordinating equipment setup, managing on-site operations, and conducting post-event evaluations to continually improve service effectiveness.

Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of client-facing event planning experience as an Event Manager, Event Coordinator, Catering Manager, or comparable position
  • high school degree required
  • serve-safe manager and RBS certified
  • bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, hotel management or tourism preferred
  • valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • able to work weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings as scheduled
  • covid vaccination required
  • ability to lift 15 pounds
  • ability to stand for prolonged periods
  • calm under pressure and able to manage unexpected situations

Job Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of client-facing event planning experience as an Event Manager, Event Coordinator, Catering Manager, or comparable position

  • Serve-Safe Manager and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification

Job Duties

  • Orchestrate and oversee events
  • consult with clients to plan and determine event operational requirements
  • collaborate with catering chef regarding special menu items
  • be the primary point of contact for clients ensuring exceptional event experiences
  • participate in walk-throughs and client meetings
  • address concerns about menus, venues, and staffing
  • develop event sheets and plan menus
  • create floor plans and coordinate rental orders
  • organize event labor and create packing lists
  • collaborate on event set-up, roll-out, and conclusion
  • set up tables, serving stations, and tableware
  • provide operational floor management during events
  • ensure venue cleanliness and food safety
  • conclude events including equipment return
  • maintain staffing and labor records
  • provide onsite coordination with clients, vendors, and venue
  • ensure event is set up as agreed and food and beverage service follows timeline
  • direct event break down and load out
  • follow up with clients and vendors post-event
  • evaluate event success and areas for improvement
  • manage inventory and accounting for recap meetings
  • cultivate strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams
  • address problems or complaints about services
  • assist sales and design team with ad-hoc projects
