We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Event & Catering Operations Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in overseeing the comprehensive execution of various events, including banquets, meetings, weddings, and other social and business functions. This is a salaried full-time position with a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $90,000 per annum. The role demands a proactive professional who thrives in fast-paced and dynamic settings and is passionate about delivering impeccable service and unforgettable experiences.

The Event & Catering Operations Manager will act as the key liaison between clients, vendors, and internal teams throughout all phases of event management. This includes meticulous planning, seamless coordination on the event day, and efficient final load-out processes. The manager is responsible for ensuring that every detail from menu development in collaboration with the Catering Chef, event layouts, staffing allocation, to post-event evaluations are executed flawlessly.

This role requires outstanding organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while maintaining a strong focus on customer service and operational excellence. Regular client consultations and site visits will be part of the responsibilities to provide expert guidance and recommendations tailored to client preferences and event goals. The manager will also be involved in developing operational timelines, creating detailed event sheets, managing rental orders, and maintaining compliance with food safety and venue policies.

With a hands-on approach, the Event & Catering Operations Manager will oversee the coordination of tables, serving stations, buffet lines, and equipment setup in partnership with the Lead Steward. Leading the service team on-site to ensure high standards of food handling and sanitation are maintained is critical. Post-event responsibilities include gathering feedback, evaluating operational performance, organizing inventory, and supporting sales and design teams with additional projects.

This role demands physical activity, including frequent lifting of 10-15 lbs, occasional lifting of 30 lbs, and rare assistance with heavier lifting up to 100 lbs. The ideal candidate will hold certifications such as Serve-Safe Manager and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS), a high school diploma (with preference for a bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related fields), and possess proficiency with software tools including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Visio. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required, along with a COVID vaccination as per regulations. Availability to work during weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings is necessary based on business needs.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Coordinate all aspects of event execution while maintaining a focus on organization and time management
  • Consult clients to fulfill event objectives and service expectations
  • Act as the primary connection for clients throughout the planning and execution processes offering guidance and recommendations
  • Work closely with the Catering Chef on menu development and food presentation
  • Engage in client meetings and site visits responding to inquiries about menus venues and logistics
  • Develop operational timelines and detailed event sheets
  • Coordinate menu selections in partnership with the culinary team
  • Create floor plans and event layouts tailored to client needs
  • Source and manage rental orders
  • Communicate with venue partners and conduct site inspections
  • Work with the Staffing Manager to allocate staff effectively
  • Prepare packing lists in collaboration with the Warehouse Team
  • Collaborate with the Lead Steward for effective setup execution and breakdown of events
  • Oversee the arrangement of tables serving stations buffet lines and all necessary equipment
  • Provide on-site leadership to the service team ensuring exceptional execution of all service elements
  • Maintain food handling and sanitation standards in compliance with company and venue guidelines
  • Communicate consistently with clients vendors and team members to meet event timelines and expectations
  • Ensure safety and compliance with venue policies for both guests and staff
  • Manage event breakdown and equipment organization post-event
  • Keep accurate staffing and operational documentation records
  • Follow up with clients vendors and venue partners to gather feedback and evaluate event success
  • Assess operational performance identifying areas for improvement
  • Organize inventory and oversee reconciliation
  • Prepare receipts and accounting documentation for recap meetings
  • Build lasting relationships with clients vendors and team members
  • Proactively resolve operational challenges and guest concerns professionally
  • Support the Sales & Design Team with additional projects as needed
