The team here works diligently to maintain high standards of service while emphasizing empathy, excellence, and teamwork amongst staff members. Joining The Highlands means becoming part of a dedicated team that values making a meaningful and lasting impact on the community it serves.
We are currently seeking a Server to join our dining services team at The Highlands. This role is vital to ensuring that our senior residents enjoy pleasant and efficient meal service every day. The Server’s responsibilities include preparing foods according to dietary standards, taking and delivering orders, setting up the dining area, and maintaining cleanliness. Ideal candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to relate well to residents and coworkers, and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced restaurant-style environment. While experience in food service is preferred, it is not required. This position offers a competitive pay rate up to $22.00 per hour with a schedule of 3 to 4 nights weekly from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm, including occasional weekends. Notably, there are no late-night shifts, with the workday concluding by 7:30 pm at the latest.
Full-time employees enjoy an array of comprehensive benefits including paid time off and holiday pay, daily pay for financial flexibility, health and dental insurance, a 401(k) plan with employer match to support future financial security, company-paid life insurance, short and long-term disability coverage for workplace injuries, referral bonuses, tuition reimbursement, and access to an employee assistance program for personal support resources.
The Server at The Highlands is expected to perform core duties such as assisting with dining room setup, taking and serving food orders, bussing tables and trays, pouring and preparing beverages, and ensuring that food service areas are clean and well-maintained. This role requires a steady pace to meet the demands of residents and kitchen staff, as well as cooperation with dining room associates to offer a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. Additional responsibilities include following infection control procedures, adhering to residents’ rights policies, and participating in facility safety programs. The ability to act as a liaison between the residents and food service department is essential, helping to ensure clear communication and satisfaction.
This role also offers opportunities for involvement in resident-centered activities, projects, and associate meetings to promote community engagement and professional development. The ideal candidate will exhibit professional appearance and personal hygiene, maintain compliance with all company policies, and demonstrate a strong work ethic and dependability through punctual and consistent attendance. Physical requirements include the ability to perform various movements such as bending, standing, lifting up to 40 pounds, stooping, sitting, walking, and stretching.
At The Highlands, you will find a supportive work environment where your contributions are valued and your skills can grow, all while making a positive difference in the lives of senior residents. If you are compassionate, motivated, and eager to join a respected team, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position.
