Job Description

SASED, or the Suburban Area Special Education District, is a cooperative organization serving various school districts with specialized educational programs. Operating primarily within Illinois, SASED focuses on catering to students requiring tailored educational approaches, often those with special needs. The Southeast Alternative School in Naperville, Illinois, is one of SASED's key locations where it provides specialized programs and services in a supportive educational environment. The district emphasizes creating opportunities for growth, learning, and inclusion within its programs, ensuring students receive comprehensive support tailored to their unique needs. The Southeast Alternative School specifically offers a range of personalized and alternative education programs targeting diverse student needs.

This particular role pertains to the SASED ESY (Extended School Year) Program, which will run Monday through Thursday from June 10th through June 25th. The position offers working hours from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., providing a structured schedule conducive to both the staff and students. In addition to the program dates, the role includes paid orientation sessions on June 8th and 9th, also from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., allowing staff to prepare adequately for the summer session. The position is located at the SASED Southeast Alternative School at 6s331 Cornwall Rd, Naperville, IL 60540.

Compensation is offered at a competitive rate of $20.16 per hour, reflecting the importance of the role within the program's framework. This role is ideal for individuals with food safety and sanitation certifications who are interested in working in an educational environment during the summer. It involves ensuring safe food handling practices are maintained throughout the ESY program, thereby contributing to the students' health and well-being. Staff members play a vital role in supporting the nutrition and food service operations, working collaboratively within the educational setting to maintain high standards of safety and hygiene.

This opportunity provides a meaningful way to contribute to an important program that supports students during the summer months when regular school is not in session. Working in this environment allows staff to engage with a diverse and supportive community while utilizing certified food handling skills. The structured hours and paid orientation help ensure staff are well-prepared and supported throughout their employment period. Overall, this role at SASED offers a unique blend of educational involvement and food safety expertise within a specialized school setting during the summer months.
