Job Description

The Student Association for Special Education in DuPage (SASED) is a dedicated educational organization focused on providing exceptional resources and programs for individuals with special needs within the DuPage County area. SASED is committed to enhancing educational experiences and offering supportive services that meet the unique challenges faced by special education students and their families. With a comprehensive approach that integrates academic learning and life skills development, SASED stands as a pillar of support and innovation in special education programming.

This particular role is centered around the SASED Extended School Year (ESY) Program, which operates during the summer months to provide continued educational opportunities and activities for special education students. The ESY Program runs from Monday to Thursday, June 10th through June 25th, with staff hours from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The position includes paid orientation sessions on June 8th and 9th during the same hours. Staff will primarily be based at the SASED Transition Center located at 2900 Ogden Ave, Lisle, IL 60532. Employees can expect a competitive pay rate of $20.16 per hour.

In this role, the individual will contribute to a structured and supportive environment tailored for students requiring specialized education services during the summer period. The key duties will involve assisting with food service operations, maintaining sanitation standards, and supporting the overall operation of the ESY program. Candidates are required to have an ANSI-accredited Food Handler Certificate or Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification, with assistance provided to qualified applicants in obtaining certification. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • must obtain ANSI-accredited Food Handler Certificate or Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification (SASED assistance available)
  • availability to work Monday-Thursday, June 10th through June 25th, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • ability to attend paid orientation on June 8th and 9th
