Job Description

ServiceMaster is a leading provider of essential restoration and cleaning services, known for its commitment to world-class customer service and convenience. Built on a foundation of respected brands and a network of passionate employees, ServiceMaster operates through independently owned and operated franchises. The company fosters a diverse and inclusive community where team members work collaboratively to achieve shared goals. With a strong emphasis on employee empowerment and delivering high-quality service, ServiceMaster has built a reputation as a trusted name in the restoration industry. The franchisee hiring for this Estimator role operates under this reputable brand, ensuring localized management and decision-making while benefiting from the wider ServiceMaster network and standards.

The Estimator position at ServiceMaster is vital to the success of the restoration projects handled by the company. This role requires an individual who is detail-oriented, knowledgeable about the commercial and insurance restoration industry, and equipped with a basic construction background including a sound understanding of building materials, flooring, and other elements commonly affected by wind, water, fire, smoke, and other types of property damage. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in Xactimate, a critical software tool used for preparing estimates in the restoration field. Experience with this software is a mandatory requirement, and candidates without prior Xactimate expertise will not be considered. The Estimator is responsible for creating precise and comprehensive estimates that adhere to both Xactimate guidelines and IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) standards.

Beyond software skills, the role involves working onsite to inspect and scope restoration jobs, collaborating closely with project managers, crew chiefs, and lead technicians to gather accurate information for estimates. The Estimator must be adept at documenting loss through detailed photographs and thorough notes entered into the company’s operating systems and software tools. Communication is crucial, not only within internal teams to ensure all necessary documentation such as photos, signed documents, and notes are complete but also externally, serving as a liaison with insurance companies and adjusters via timely phone calls and emails.

Physical demands of the role are significant, as it requires the ability to lift and carry items up to 70 pounds regularly and perform activities such as standing, walking, squatting, crawling, and crouching for extended periods. The job may also require the use of respirators in specific situations, necessitating that they seal properly to the face for safety. Candidates should be prepared to work in various indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in changing temperature conditions. The position offers an hourly wage range of $30.00 to $40.00, reflecting the specialized skills and responsibilities required.

Overall, the Estimator role at ServiceMaster offers an opportunity to be a critical contributor within a reputable restoration company. This position demands a combination of technical expertise, construction knowledge, software proficiency, excellent communication skills, and physical capability. Those who join ServiceMaster will become part of a passionate team committed to quality service and professional growth within the restoration industry.
