Job Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
- available to work on-site during standard office hours
- willingness to work extended hours during peak production
- ability to work overtime when required
- ability to perform physical activities such as walking, sitting, standing, bending, and lifting
- capable of operating computers and other electronic equipment
- effective communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Two-year technical degree from an accredited school or college preferred
- previously demonstrated reinforcement bar estimating experience preferred
- three years of experience in the reinforcing steel industry preferred
- proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- working knowledge of plan takeoff software such as Bluebeam, Construct Connect Takeoff, or PlanSwift
- ability to read and understand construction drawings including structural, architectural, and civil types
- knowledge of concrete structures and CRSI/ACI standards
- proficient working knowledge of aSa Estimating
Job Duties
- Adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication's safety programs and standards
- progress through the NRF Estimator Training Program
- demonstrate proficiency at takeoff software
- demonstrate proficiency at aSa estimating software
- build estimating skills and review project plans to assess project scope and bidding strategy
- prepare timely estimates of fabricated reinforcing bars, mesh, accessories, and related products
- complete more complex projects with reduced supervision
- prioritize workload and communicate with Estimating Lead
- track plan revisions and bid updates
- communicate professionally with sales teammates regarding estimating and bidding
- self-review work for scope, completeness, and accuracy
- maintain knowledge of CRSI and reinforcing bars manuals
- perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
