Responsibilities include performing dismissal cleaning tasks prioritized by nursing staff, ensuring that all assigned areas meet established cleaning and infection control standards. The role demands meticulous attention to detail, as well as the ability to complete thorough documentation of all cleaning activities. The cleaning professional will also be responsible for taking down and replacing cubicle curtains as scheduled, delivering and retrieving linens, and maintaining hospital equipment in good working order by completing repair work orders when necessary.
Maintaining confidentiality and fostering professional relationships within the hospital environment are essential parts of this position. The candidate must demonstrate a high level of discretion and maintain professional conduct when interacting with hospital personnel, visitors, and patients. Additionally, the role involves occasional driving of hospital vehicles, requiring the individual to hold a valid driver’s license and have the ability to drive safely and responsibly within the hospital’s guidelines.
This position requires an individual who can read and comprehend English language instructions, both written and verbal, to adhere to hospital policies, infection control regulations, and safety standards. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and prior experience in a healthcare cleaning role will be an advantage. Job Duties
- Performs dismissal cleaning in assigned area(s) based on the order of priority set by nursing and completed per established infection control and ESD cleaning standards
- documents the completion of dismissal cleaning
- completes patient area(s), public area(s) and office area assigned daily according to set standards and records for review
- takes down and replaces cubicle curtains as requested or scheduled per area
- maintains strict confidentiality at all times
- develops and maintains professional working relationships with hospital personnel, co-workers, visitors and patients
- maintains assigned hospital equipment in good repair and condition and completes work orders for repairs
- delivers clean linen to floors, picks up soiled linen and returns soiled linen to linen services
- drives hospital vehicles as needed and as licensed and insured
- reads and reviews policies and guidelines and regulatory requirements for infection control and general safety
