Job Description

Boston Children's Hospital is a nationally recognized pediatric medical center that provides excellent care for children and their families. As an institution committed to innovation, research, and compassionate care, the hospital maintains top-tier standards in patient safety and cleanliness to create a supportive and healthy environment for patients, families, and staff. It is known for its collaborative culture that encourages professional growth and values dedication to improving pediatric health outcomes. Boston Children's offers competitive compensation along with a robust benefits package, making it an attractive employer for those seeking meaningful work in healthcare support services.

The Environmental Services Worker role at Boston Children's Hospital is a vital position responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the hospital environment. The role supports overall hospital operations by ensuring that areas are clean, organized, and meet strict sanitation standards. Working Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with every other weekend and holidays scheduled, this full-time position offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus within the first six months as an added incentive. The Environmental Services Worker plays a key role in fostering a welcoming and safe atmosphere for everyone in the hospital through duties such as floor and furniture care, trash disposal, restroom sanitation, and the handling of regulated medical waste.

This role demands strong attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions carefully, and courteous interaction with patients and staff. The position also requires operating various types of cleaning equipment and ensuring that all assigned areas—from stairwells to patient care items—are appropriately maintained. The hospital’s focus on safety means the employee must respond effectively to spills or emergencies using proper protective gear. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to contribute to a meaningful healthcare environment while gaining experience in hospital operations. The position also offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, childcare and student loan subsidies, paid time off, and retirement savings plans. Boston Children’s Hospital fosters a culture of teamwork and passion, making it an engaging workplace for those who value purposeful work and professional development.
