Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in working with the general public using customer relations skills
- Previous experience in handling ill patients to and from vehicles, seated positions, and wheelchairs preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service approach
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions
- Ability to work with minimal supervision

Job Duties
- Greet customers and hospital guests and provide information
- Provide information concerning visiting hours, policies, directions, and area
- Respond to requests and answer questions from clients, patients, family, community, and staff
- Always identify area and self when answering the telephone or other communication devices
- Assess and provide the customer with appropriate transportation requirements
- Respond to assignments through the use of the Capacity Management device
- Provide the customer with assistance of transporting personal items
- Transfer patients in and out of wheelchair or vehicle using appropriate equipment lift as necessary
- Transport/escort patients by wheelchair or walk to appropriate destination
- Escort patients to correct destinations without unnecessary waiting
