Job Description
The hiring establishment is a healthcare facility dedicated to providing compassionate and professional care to patients and visitors. This organization prides itself on creating a welcoming environment where guests and patients receive personalized assistance to enhance their overall experience. Known for its commitment to patient well-being and community service, the facility employs a team of skilled professionals who work collaboratively to ensure a smooth and supportive atmosphere for everyone who enters.
This role is primarily focused on customer service and patient transportation within the hospital setting. Individuals in this position will greet, escort, and assist customers in a highly personalized and professional manner. The main objective is to ensure that patients and their families feel supported and guided from the moment they arrive until they reach their designated areas. The role requires a compassionate attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to respond effectively to various requests and situations.
In this position, the successful candidate will greet customers and hospital guests, offering them clear information about visiting hours, hospital policies, directions, and other relevant community details. They will handle requests and questions from a diverse group that includes clients, patients, family members, and hospital staff, maintaining courteous and professional communication at all times. Telephone and other communication devices are used, and the candidate must always identify themselves and their location to ensure clarity and professionalism.
Transportation is a critical part of the job. The individual will assess transportation needs and provide assistance accordingly, often using specialized equipment and devices such as the Capacity Management system to respond to assignments. Responsibilities include helping patients transport personal items, transferring patients safely in and out of wheelchairs or vehicles using appropriate lifts, and escorting patients either by wheelchair or walking to their destinations without unnecessary delays.
The role demands excellent interpersonal skills, a customer service-oriented approach, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Physically, the job requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, as well as the strength to lift, push, pull, and position patients and equipment safely. The work environment includes frequent interaction with computer monitors and occasional exposure to chemicals used in patient care areas. Candidates should be prepared for the possibility of working outdoors or in varying weather conditions.
This position welcomes individuals who are committed to enhancing patient and visitor experiences through attentive, respectful service and reliable support. It offers an opportunity to be an essential part of a healthcare team, improving the comfort and safety of patients during their time at the facility.
