The role of Bartender at Equipment Room is dynamic and central to the guest experience. This position involves much more than just mixing drinks; it includes waitressing duties with personal ownership of individual service sections to deliver outstanding service to every patron. As a Bartender, you will craft cocktails according to Bunkhouse standards, serve food and snacks from the bar menu, and ensure all food preparation related to bar service meets the highest quality. Additionally, you will be responsible for engaging with guests, effectively communicating, and resolving any issues that arise to maintain a positive environment. The role demands good multitasking skills, attention to detail about drink presentation and bar cleanliness, as well as proactive participation in menu planning and inventory management. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- six (6) months related experience in hospitality or service industry
- up-to-date TABC and Food Handler's certifications
- must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
- must be knowledgeable of our menu and upselling opportunities
- good communication skills
- ability to resolve conflict
- thorough understanding of Bunkhouse policies
- able to greet all guests warmly and provide genuine welcome
- commitment to maintaining company culture, values, and reputation
- must be 21 or older
- ability to check IDs as required
- ability to maintain cleanliness and safety in the work environment
Job Qualifications

- college degree preferred
- six (6) months related experience in hospitality or service industry
- up-to-date TABC and Food Handler's certifications
- must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
- must be knowledgeable of our menu and upselling opportunities
- assist with maintaining the unique atmosphere of EQ by informing guests of our service style
- a growing knowledge of craft cocktail basics and culture
Job Duties
- Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons
- mix ingredients to prepare and garnish cocktails and other beverages according to Bunkhouse standards
- serve snacks or food items to customers as requested or submit order to kitchen
- clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment
- arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays
- help plan and organize the menu and operations of the cocktail lounge or bar
- ensure immediate response is given to any and all guest comments and concerns and inform immediate supervisor of concerns and assist implementing corrective measure when necessary
- collect money for all orders taken
- check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
- balance cash receipts
- attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers’ excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons
- order or requisition liquors and supplies
- ask customers who become loud and unruly to leave
- maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area
