The position of Porter at Towne Park plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and overall maintenance of the parking garage, delivering top-notch hospitality services to guests throughout their visit. This hourly role, with a pay range between $12 and $16, involves a combination of cleaning duties and guest assistance, including handling minor vehicle issues such as lock-outs, flat tires, and battery jumps. In this role, the Porter is responsible for conducting cleanliness checks at guest entrances and elevator landings, emptying ash urns and trash receptacles, sweeping common areas, and utilizing equipment like mops and power washers to maintain a neat and inviting garage environment. Wiping signage, maintaining pay stations, and ensuring that all equipment such as gates and card readers are clean are also essential tasks. The Porter takes care of returned guest key receptacles, power-washing entrances and exits as needed.
Beyond maintenance, the Porter provides exceptional customer service by assisting guests with directions, answering inquiries, and offering information about local attractions. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- high school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
- able to pass criminal background check and drug screen
- able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 100 pounds
- able to stand, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
- able to handle guest inquiries and provide assistance professionally
- able to maintain customer confidentiality and security
- able to work AM or PM shift schedules
- able to understand and follow cleaning and safety procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- one to three months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- customer service experience preferred
- knowledge of basic general cleaning
- effective communication skills including reading and writing in English
- ability to comprehend and present information clearly
- understanding of 24-hour and military time
- ability to understand applicable rates
- ability to work with guests and team members respectfully
Job Duties
- Cleanliness check each shift of all guest entrances and elevator landings
- empty all ash urns and trash receptacles
- sweep litter and cigarette butts from common landing areas
- use mop or power washer to remove stains from common areas
- wipe all signage and wayfinding material with cleaning solutions
- maintain general cleaning of garage including areas around vehicles
- wipe and clean all garage equipment including gates and card readers
- empty returned guest key receptacles and return keys to the manager
- assist guests with directions and inquiries
- protect guest confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations
