The role of Loader Operator / Class B CDL Driver is vital to Denali's daily operations. Located in Staten Island and Brooklyn, NY, this full-time, hourly position seeks a dependable and safety-conscious heavy equipment operator specialized in front-end loader operation and Class B commercial vehicle driving. The individual in this position will be responsible for the collection, transportation, and loading of organic materials, ensuring these tasks are conducted adhering strictly to safety standards and company policies. The role demands an attentive, clear-minded individual who understands the importance of safety-sensitive work. Aside from operating heavy machinery and commercial vehicles, the Loader Operator will be involved in equipment maintenance, customer communications, and upholding documentation accuracy, such as delivery tickets and contamination forms. This position not only requires technical skill but also a proactive approach to reporting safety issues or mechanical problems. Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Class B CDL required
  • Minimum 2 years heavy equipment operator work experience preferred
  • Clean MVR
  • Ability to operate heavy or agricultural equipment safely
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Ability to work in outdoor and physically demanding environments
  • Must pass all DOT requirements including drug screen and physical examination

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class B CDL with a clean driving record
  • Front-end loader experience required (1-2 years preferred)
  • Heavy equipment operating background (skid steer, telehandler, etc. is a plus)
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and handle physical labor
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Must pass all DOT requirements (drug screen, physical, etc.)

Job Duties

  • Safely operate Class B commercial vehicles on designated local or regional routes
  • Operate front-end loaders and other heavy equipment for loading, unloading, and material handling
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and document findings
  • Load materials into trucks/trailers using heavy equipment following site and safety guidelines
  • Follow all DOT, state, and federal regulations at all times
  • Maintain accurate paperwork, including delivery tickets, contamination forms, and equipment logs
  • Communicate with site managers, operations teams, and customers to ensure smooth service
  • Assist with general yard duties and equipment upkeep as needed
  • Report all safety issues, mechanical concerns, or route challenges immediately
