The company operates with a strong focus on safety, quality control, and employee development, making it a desirable place to work for those passionate about food production and culinary arts.
Teasdale Latin Foods is currently seeking dedicated individuals to join their team as Batchmaker/Prep - Cook for the 1st shift from 5 AM to 1:30 PM. This role is pivotal in ensuring that food products are prepared accurately and efficiently following established recipes and protocols. Starting pay for this position ranges from $14.88 to $18.00 per hour, reflecting the company’s commitment to offering competitive wages and rewarding skill and experience.
In this role, the Batchmaker/Prep - Cook is responsible for selecting, weighing, and staging ingredients precisely according to recipe cards, ensuring consistency and quality in production. Attention to detail is essential as the job requires careful labeling, recording, and issuance of ingredients. Operating various kitchen processing equipment such as roasters and choppers is also a fundamental aspect of the job. The successful candidate will follow the FIFO (first-in, first-out) rotation system rigorously to maintain food safety and freshness.
The role involves a combination of physical tasks including moving products, materials, and equipment within the work area. Candidates need to be comfortable with lifting weights up to 50-65 pounds and performing movements involving bending, stooping, pulling, and pushing. Moreover, familiarity or willingness to learn how to operate pumping systems and use handheld scanning devices for inventory management is required.
A team-oriented mindset is essential, as the position also includes assisting Kettle Cooks when necessary and maintaining a clean and safe working environment to comply with health and safety standards.
Teasdale Latin Foods fosters a supportive and growth-oriented work culture. Employees benefit from comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance from day one, along with immediate accrual of sick time. The company also offers a 401(k) retirement plan with matching contributions starting at 60 days of employment, underscoring its dedication to employee welfare and long-term career development. Opportunities for career growth and professional development are actively promoted, making this position ideal for individuals looking to build a lasting career in food production and culinary operations.
If you are passionate about food preparation, value teamwork, and seek a stable role with a company that invests in its people, consider joining the Teasdale Latin Foods family as a Batchmaker/Prep - Cook.
