Job Description
Athletic Club Boise is a professional soccer club that has recently joined the USL League One for the 2026 season. The Club has quickly established itself as a burgeoning force in the league, setting records for home game attendance and season ticket deposits, boasting over 7,000 season ticket deposits—the highest in USL history across all leagues. The ownership group of Athletic Club Boise includes notable figures such as Kasey Keller, a former 4-time United States Men's National Team goalkeeper, along with CEO and co-founder Brad Stith, seasoned sports executive Steve Patterson, local developer David Wali, and former Vice Chair of U.S. Soccer Dr. Bill Taylor. This group is supported by a committed coalition of local business and community leaders, all united by the club’s mantra, "Built by Boise, For Boise." This mantra has helped galvanize regional support, fostering a strong community connection and drawing thousands of fans to numerous club and community events.
Athletic Club Boise operates on a foundation of four key pillars: Embrace, which focuses on embracing the growing diversity of Idaho within its team and fan base; Unite, aimed at bringing the community together inside and outside of the stadium by fostering a strong sense of pride and belonging in Idaho; Elevate, which is committed to youth development by creating pathways to the highest levels of sport; and Champion, embodying Idaho’s industrious and enduring spirit and showcasing this prominently on national and international stages. The club’s mission is to relentlessly pursue championships, deepen community engagement, and invest heavily in youth programs to become an emblem of pride for the Gem State.
The role of the Equipment Manager is integral to Athletic Club Boise’s day-to-day operations, serving as the behind-the-scenes MVP ensuring that the team is always prepared for both practice and competitive matches. The Equipment Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Soccer and plays a critical role in maintaining seamless team operations, managing all equipment and apparel logistics, supporting travel and training preparations, and assisting with matchday setups. This position demands someone who is exceptionally organized, highly dependable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic sports environment.
The Equipment Manager’s responsibilities include assisting the Director of Soccer Operations with preparations for practices, games, and travel logistics, ensuring all gear and locker rooms are ready and compliant with league regulations. Acting as a liaison to referees on matchdays, managing the inventory and distribution of team apparel and equipment, and supporting team and staff needs during training sessions and events are also crucial aspects of the role. Additionally, the Equipment Manager helps maintain the cleanliness and organization of the locker room, equipment room, and team lounge, provides transportation for players when necessary, supports visiting team training sessions, assists with staff and player meals, and performs other duties as assigned.
This position requires flexibility, including availability during nights, weekends, and travel, and a valid driver’s license is mandatory. Athletic Club Boise is an equal opportunity employer that welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds and is committed to equity and inclusion in hiring practices. The Equipment Manager position is exempt and offers a unique chance to be part of an ambitious, community-rooted club that is setting new standards in USL League One with a record-breaking fan base and a passionate ownership group.
