The Equipment Maintenance Technician role at Bloom Energy is a critical position based in Fremont, CA, requiring a skilled professional to maintain and enhance the automated equipment utilized in the Stack Manufacturing process. This full-time, on-site role involves working day shifts from 6am to 6pm on a rotating schedule including Sundays to Tuesdays or Thursdays to Saturdays, with alternating Wednesdays. Reporting directly to the Equipment Maintenance Supervisor, the technician will play a key role in troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing machinery to ensure seamless manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include performing machine installations and modifications, executing preventive maintenance plans, creating maintenance procedures, supporting equipment testing groups, and ensuring strict compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety standards. The role demands a high degree of technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining the operational integrity of high-capacity manufacturing equipment. Candidates will require strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to read PLC schematics, and competence in handling both digital and analog inputs and outputs. They must also demonstrate effective communication skills, computer proficiency, and physical capability to meet the demands of a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in a high capacity manufacturing environment
  • Experience with automated equipment
  • Ability to read PLC schematics
  • Competency in troubleshooting digital and analog I/O issues
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft office
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Excellent hand and eye coordination
  • Ability to complete tasks with minimum supervision
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Flexibility with changing shift or work schedule

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 8+ years experience in a high capacity manufacturing environment
  • Experience with automated equipment
  • Understand how to read PLC schematics and diagnose issues
  • Able to troubleshoot and correct digital and analog I/O issues
  • Strong trouble-shooting skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communicator
  • Able to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Must have computer skills, minimum Microsoft office
  • Demonstrated ability to use small hand and power tools

Job Duties

  • Troubleshoot and repair automated equipment in stack manufacturing
