Job Description
Triumvirate Environmental is one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, specializing in compliance management and hazardous waste solutions for leading organizations across higher education, life sciences, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing sectors. The company is recognized for its unique culture that fosters growth, development, education, and creativity among its employees, ensuring that both employees and customers are consistently impressed by their service – a principle they proudly call "WOW." As a top-tier provider of environmental services, Triumvirate Environmental’s commitment to maintaining a safe, compliant, and sustainable environment underpins every project and partnership undertaken. Their expertise spans from hazardous waste management to regulatory compliance and environmental consulting, making them a trusted partner for organizations with complex environmental needs.
Joining Triumvirate Environmental as an Environmental Technician means becoming part of a dynamic and dedicated team who values attention to detail, high motivation, and excellent customer service skills. This specific role is based onsite at one of their client locations in Clayton, North Carolina, catering to the client’s hazardous waste program needs. The position offers an overnight schedule from 10 PM to 7 AM, Sunday through Friday, ideal for individuals seeking work during these hours. The Environmental Technician works under the direct supervision of the Program Manager and plays a critical role in ensuring hazardous waste is properly handled, repackaged, and prepared for off-site disposal or destruction.
The responsibilities of the Environmental Technician are diverse and physically engaging, including managing hazardous waste streams, operating forklifts (both powered and non-powered), and handling physical tasks such as moving pallets, drums, trays, and totes of materials. Physical hazards such as force, bending, and twisting are part of the daily workflow; therefore, this role requires a candidate who can safely manage these demands. Additionally, the technician operates specialized equipment like material shredders to safely destroy confidential or sensitive waste onsite. Communication and coordination skills are essential as the technician also schedules non-hazardous waste pickups and collaborates closely with the client to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
This role is ideal for candidates passionate about environmental health and safety, with a focus on hazardous waste management and a commitment to best practices in environmental compliance. Triumvirate Environmental’s supportive work environment encourages ongoing learning and professional development, ensuring technicians are kept up to date with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This opportunity represents a fulfilling career path within a leading company dedicated to protecting the environment and promoting sustainable waste management practices within some of the most demanding sectors. Individuals who thrive in hands-on, detail-oriented positions with a service-driven mindset will find this role particularly rewarding and impactful.
