The company’s mission is to develop innovative solutions that protect the environment while meeting the evolving needs of its clients. Over the past years, Veolia has been recognized as the top-ranked environmental company in the United States for three consecutive years, solidifying its position as a trusted leader in environmental management. The integration process fosters collaborative recruitment and talent acquisition efforts between Veolia and Clean Earth teams, ensuring that new hires align with the company’s high standards for safety, compliance, and innovation.

The role of Environmental Technician II at Veolia is a critical position within the company’s hazardous waste and pollution treatment segment. This full-time, hourly role offers a pay range of $20 to $24 per hour, depending on the candidate’s experience. The position’s typical work hours run from 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm, providing a structured schedule for optimal operational efficiency. The Environmental Technician II is responsible for the safe and effective handling, treatment, and processing of inbound waste streams in compliance with environmental regulations and company protocols. This includes operating various onsite equipment such as pit mixers, drum pumps, forklifts, and wheel loaders, to manage, treat, and prepare hazardous waste for proper disposal or recycling. A thorough understanding of waste stream characteristics and their specific treatment requirements is essential for success in this role. Beyond equipment operation, the Technician II plays a vital role in maintaining accurate documentation and record-keeping as mandated by Veolia’s rigorous safety and environmental standards, ensuring traceability and compliance throughout the waste handling process.

Employees in this role must be capable of performing duties that include unloading bulk liquid trucks, sampling waste to assess compatibility, and rapidly identifying and resolving any issues with inbound loads to prevent contamination or regulatory breaches. Operators are expected to adhere to all safety guidelines, wearing necessary personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hats, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirators to safeguard themselves and their coworkers. The role demands physical stamina and resilience, as environmental technicians work in varied indoor and outdoor settings and endure exposure to different climate conditions. Communication skills, both verbal and written, are key, as technicians must relay information regarding waste streams, safety observations, and process exceptions to management and team members clearly and professionally.

Joining Veolia as an Environmental Technician II provides an opportunity to be part of a company deeply invested in environmental stewardship and innovation. The company values employee safety, career development, and work-life balance, offering comprehensive training and support to enable technicians to excel. Candidates who thrive in safety-conscious, fast-paced environments and are committed to upholding the highest environmental and operational standards will find this role professionally rewarding and impactful. Additionally, this position offers a pathway for growth within Veolia’s dynamic organizational structure, with access to ongoing education and professional advancement opportunities.
