Renowned for its commitment to patient safety, quality, and community well-being, Virtua combines advanced healthcare technologies with personalized care approaches to ensure optimal health outcomes for its patients. As a comprehensive health care system, Virtua offers a diverse range of career opportunities and professional growth for its employees, emphasizing teamwork, continuous improvement, and a culture of respect and inclusion.

We are currently seeking a Per Diem Environmental Services Worker to join the Virtua team at our Camden, New Jersey location. This role is crucial in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff, directly supporting Virtua's commitment to infection control and a patient-centered care experience. The position operates on a per diem basis during the second shift, offering a flexible working schedule with an hourly rate ranging between $18.00 and $21.33 depending on experience and qualifications.

The Environmental Services Worker at Virtua is entrusted with a variety of responsibilities focused primarily on cleanliness and safety within the healthcare facility. These duties include cleaning and maintaining assigned areas, removing trash, distributing linens, and setting up rooms in accordance with established protocols. This role requires strict adherence to universal precautions to protect the health and safety of patients and employees. Handling and proper disposal of regulated medical waste and other trash safely is a critical component of the job, as is the responsible use and storage of cleaning chemicals to prevent hazards.

Additionally, the Environmental Services Worker may be called upon to handle linen management and may be required to work across different Virtua facilities as operational needs dictate. A key attribute for candidates in this role is attention to detail to ensure no compromise on cleanliness standards and safety regulations. This position values prior customer service experience and effective communication skills, including the ability to speak English clearly, to support interaction with colleagues and other hospital staff effectively.

At Virtua, we understand the importance of rewarding our team members with comprehensive benefits packages wherever applicable, including medical, dental, and vision insurance options for eligible employees, flexibility in spending accounts, paid time off, and disability insurance, among others. Our supportive work environment is designed to foster personal and professional development while maintaining a high standard of service delivery to our community.
