The hospital emphasizes patient safety, wellness, and recovery, making it a trusted name in the healthcare community. Environmental services at Akron Children’s Hospital play a crucial role in maintaining the stringent hygiene standards necessary in a healthcare setting to protect patients, staff, and visitors from potential infections and contaminants.
The Environmental Services Technician I position at Akron Children's Hospital involves essential responsibilities focused on the daily cleaning and sanitization of patient rooms and ancillary areas within the hospital. This full-time, onsite role operates mainly overnight hours from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am, including rotating weekends and holidays, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards are met around the clock. Key duties include preventive cleaning according to hospital protocols, terminal cleaning involving specialized techniques such as UV light technology, and supporting other service areas to ensure operational efficiency.
Successful candidates will demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions accurately while maintaining high-quality cleaning standards. While a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, the role welcomes experienced individuals familiar with environmental services in healthcare or similar settings.
