The role available at Legacy Silverton Medical Center is a full-time position focused on maintaining cleanliness, safety, and a welcoming environment throughout the hospital. The primary responsibility is to uphold the highest standards of hygiene in patient care areas, offices, hallways, rooms, and other assigned zones. This role is crucial in supporting the healthcare environment where the welfare of the patients, visitors, and staff is paramount. In this role, attention to detail is essential, as the individual will ensure that all assigned areas are aseptically clean and aesthetically pleasing. Duties include removing soiled linen and waste, cleaning and maintaining various floor surfaces such as hard floors and carpets, sanitizing fittings and furniture, and cleaning walls, ceilings, vents, and glass. The role also involves adhering to strict security protocols, especially when handling medication rooms and refrigerators, to ensure medication inventory control and security.
Additionally, the employee will utilize cleaning tools, equipment, and supplies safely and efficiently. They will demonstrate knowledge of proper equipment usage and chemical handling, maintaining safety for themselves and others. Responsibilities also encompass assisting with conference room setups and completing all job assignments per scheduled requirements in a timely and safe manner. Effective communication skills are vital for establishing respectful and open channels with customers, coworkers, and supervisors, and reporting any unsafe conditions observed in the work area.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience preferred
- Ability to communicate in English effectively
- Ability to follow safety protocols
- Ability to work a full-time schedule
- Basic computer skills preferred
Job Qualifications
- Ability to communicate, read and write in English
- Basic familiarity with computers preferred
Job Duties
- Maintain assigned areas in an aseptically clean and aesthetically pleasing manner
- Remove soiled linen and waste from assigned areas
- Clean and maintain hard floor surfaces including dust mopping, wet mopping, stripping, waxing and polishing
- Clean and maintain carpeted floors including vacuuming, shampooing and extracting
- Clean and sanitize fittings and furniture
- Clean walls, ceilings, vents and inside glass in assigned area
- Follow security measures when cleaning medication rooms and refrigerators
