Job Requirements
- basic housekeeping practices and procedures
- proper handling/disposal of infectious waste
- proper safety skills in handling of housekeeping chemicals and equipment
- basic floor care practices
Job Qualifications
- knowledge of proper cleaning, sanitation, infectious waste, floor and carpet care including knowledge of aseptic procedures, detergent/germicide solution and proper use and cleaning of equipment, proper use of safety standards and procedures in housekeeping skills
- basic housekeeping practices and procedures
- proper handling/disposal of infectious waste
- proper safety skills in handling of housekeeping chemicals and equipment
- basic floor care practices
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
Job Duties
- cleans and sanitizes all patient and ancillary departments, offices and public areas
- cleans assigned areas by washing walls, doors, door frames, ceiling, patient and non-patient furniture, fans, vents, fixtures, floors, carpets and windows
- cleans assigned areas within the given eight-hour period
- selects and prepares proper chemical solution for all jobs
- compliance must meet department cleaning standards
- collects and transports infectious, chemo, pharmaceutical and pathological waste in special waste containers
- collects, processes and disposes of trash and linen throughout the facility
- maintains janitors' carts/closets stocked and neat
- compliance will be met at 100%
