This role of Housekeeper at St. John’s Regional plays a crucial part in upholding the hospital’s commitment to a safe, clean, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Operating under the Dignity Health philosophy, the individual in this position will perform a variety of cleaning tasks essential for maintaining and improving the overall appearance and sanitary conditions across all campuses. Housekeepers ensure that the healthcare environment is conducive not only to patient care but also to operational efficiency and safety. This position is covered by the Service Employees International Union-United Healthcare Workers West (SEIU-UHW) collective bargaining agreement and offers an hourly pay range of $24.00 to $24.86.

The housekeeping role requires knowledge of basic cleaning practices and procedures tailored specifically to healthcare settings, including proper handling and disposal of infectious waste and the safe use of housekeeping chemicals. Experience with heavy cleaning equipment such as buffers, extractors, and wide-area vacuums is preferred, reflecting the hospital’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene. Successful candidates must be able to communicate effectively in English and work collaboratively with team members, patients, and visitors.
