This job opening is with a community care facility that prioritizes the health, safety, and comfort of its residents through maintaining clean and hygienic living and communal spaces. The role of the Housekeeper involves comprehensive cleaning and upkeep of various areas throughout the community facility. This includes resident rooms, dining spaces, lounges, restrooms, laundry rooms, storage spaces, and equipment areas. The person filling this role will focus on using proper cleaning products that meet germicidal standards to disinfect and sanitize surfaces, following strict infection control protocols to minimize the risk of contamination and spread of illness.

Housekeepers are responsible for sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors and carpets, ensuring that all flooring surfaces throughout the facility are clean and free from debris. Dusting and cleaning windows, blinds, and woodwork are also essential tasks that help maintain an overall clean and welcoming environment.

A critical aspect of this position includes managing resident beds and rooms after discharges. This includes appropriate handling and disposal of infectious waste, following safety guidelines. Additionally, this role requires maintaining cleanliness and stocking of work carts, supply closets, and cleaning equipment to guarantee that all necessary materials are readily available and in good working order.

Beyond cleaning duties, Housekeepers must comply with all facility policies and procedures, including ongoing updates to safety and operational protocols. The ability to perform additional duties as assigned demonstrates flexibility and commitment to supporting the community’s overall functioning.

This opportunity does not require previous professional experience, although prior housekeeping experience is preferred. A high school diploma or GED is the minimum educational requirement. The position emphasizes a proactive attitude, strong attention to detail, and the physical stamina to perform routine and deep cleaning duties in various areas. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, managing time effectively, and communicating clearly with supervisors and residents.
