Job Description
TriHealth is a leading healthcare organization committed to serving patients, communities, and team members with dedication and excellence. Known for its comprehensive healthcare services and patient-centered approach, TriHealth operates a network of hospitals and healthcare facilities that emphasize quality care, safety, and compassionate service. The organization fosters a culture of respect, engagement, and responsibility, aligned with its SERVE standards, which ensure that every team member contributes to an environment of warmth, professionalism, and collaboration.
This particular role is a Floor Care Technician position within the TriHealth facility. Reporting directly to the floor supervisor, the Floor Care Technician is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all hard surface flooring and carpets. The scope of work extends beyond floor care to include comprehensive cleaning tasks such as wall washing, ceiling vents cleaning, lighting maintenance, waste removal, and moving furniture and equipment to support room setups and other assigned projects. The role demands hands-on operational skills with various equipment and cleaning agents, requiring adherence to strict safety and quality standards.
This position is typically involved in routine daily cleaning duties but also supports special projects as assigned by the supervisor. The incumbent completes tasks such as dust and wet mopping, buffing, stripping and refinishing floors, carpet shampooing, and extraction. Additional responsibilities include washing windows, cleaning blinds, draperies, cubicles, air conditioners, vents, and elevators, as well as managing infectious and solid waste disposal following organizational policies.
Beyond the technical skills, the Floor Care Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining an inviting, safe, and hygienic environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The position encourages continuous learning and improvement to enhance the quality of service, safety, and operational efficiency.
At TriHealth, employees are expected to fully embrace the SERVE standards: Serve, Excel, Respect, Value, and Engage. These principles foster a culture where patient experience and employee collaboration are paramount. The technician should welcome everyone warmly, address service challenges proactively, respect cultural and individual differences, value time and resources, and engage respectfully with all colleagues and customers.
This is a full-time position requiring between one to two years of related experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and familiarity with cleaning equipment are mandatory. Physical demands are notable—regular lifting of up to 50 pounds, frequent standing, bending, pushing, pulling, and occasional climbing and kneeling. The ability to maintain consistent performance, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members will ensure success in this role.
Working at TriHealth offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to healthcare environments that prioritize safety and service excellence, making a tangible difference in patient care settings through meticulous facility maintenance.
