The Environmental Services Technician I (Housekeeper) role at Sentara Leigh Hospital is a full-time position working the day shift from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with responsibility every other weekend. This position is a critical support role within the Environmental Services Department tasked with maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and orderliness throughout designated areas of the hospital. As an Environmental Services Technician I, you will be fundamental in creating a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff alike. The role involves using appropriate cleaning methods such as dusting, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, and polishing to ensure that patient rooms, hallways, common areas, and other facilities meet rigorous hygiene standards.

Additionally, the technician must adhere to safe work practices including the proper handling and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment to comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • preferred experience of 1 year in housekeeping or environmental services cleaning
