We are currently seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Technician to join our team. This critical role involves maintaining and enhancing the cleanliness and sanitary conditions across all campus facilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The Environmental Services Tech will undertake daily cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, exam rooms, restrooms, and common areas in strict adherence to hospital infection-control standards. Handling bio-hazard waste, regular trash, and linens safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements forms a core part of the job.
The ideal candidate will be skilled in operating various cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, vacuums, and disinfectant sprayers. Responsiveness to cleaning requests from nursing units and clinical staff is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively in English. Beyond technical competencies, the role requires tactfulness and professionalism when working with team members, patients, and visitors while maintaining strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information and materials. Job Requirements
- Housekeeping experience utilizing basic housekeeping practices and procedures
- Proper handling and disposal of infectious waste
- Safety skills in handling housekeeping chemicals
- Ability to operate heavy cleaning equipment such as buffers, extractors, wide area vacuums, and wet vacuums preferred
- Effective verbal communication in English
- Experience in acute healthcare settings preferred

Job Duties

- Operate cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, vacuums, and disinfectant sprayers
- Converse, comprehend, and communicate verbally in English
- Respond to cleaning requests from nursing units, clinical staff, and supervisors in a timely manner
- Restock supplies such as hand sanitizer, paper products, soap, and PPE in assigned areas
- Work tactfully and effectively with team members, patients, and visitors
- Maintain confidentiality of issues and materials designated as such
