The role of a Hospital Environmental Services Technician at TriHealth plays a critical part in preserving the sanitary conditions necessary to support positive health outcomes and prevent infections. Under the direct supervision of the floor supervisor, this position is tasked with cleaning and maintaining various healthcare environments, including patient rooms, specialized units such as nurseries and labor and delivery areas, office spaces, and restrooms. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, practices accountability, and operates efficiently to complete assigned tasks using proper techniques and safety protocols.

The technician is responsible for surface cleaning, wet mopping, and detailed sanitizing tasks, following daily schedules and responding promptly to any requests or emergencies. They handle cleaning equipment and supplies appropriately, dispose of waste — including infectious waste — following established guidelines, and replenish consumables such as soap and paper products. Working in specialized areas requires the technician to utilize personal protective equipment and adhere to strict cleaning procedures to protect themselves and others from potential exposure to infectious agents.

These guiding principles emphasize welcoming patients and guests with kindness, taking ownership of service quality, respecting cultural differences, valuing time and resources, and fostering a collaborative work atmosphere. This role firmly supports these standards by ensuring a clean, orderly environment that meets the needs and expectations of everyone in the healthcare setting.

The position demands physical stamina and flexibility, as duties include frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, and standing for extended periods. Environmental service technicians must be detail-oriented and capable of working independently while effectively communicating with supervisors and team members. This opportunity offers a meaningful way to contribute to patient care and community well-being within a respected healthcare organization.
