This role is critical in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the healthcare environment, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction. The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for performing a variety of technical cleaning tasks such as mopping, scrubbing, and floor care using the appropriate equipment and chemical dilutions. The role includes stocking necessary supplies in patient rooms and managing waste removal in accordance with departmental policies.
This position also requires careful attention to detail in cleaning procedures, including terminal cleaning of procedural areas to maintain sterile environments, frequent cleaning of walls, vents, ledges, and windows, as well as intensive cleaning in specialty departments such as the Emergency Department, Surgery, Interventional Radiology, and Pharmacy. Responsibilities extend to equipment cleaning in patient rooms and daily cleaning to meet high patient satisfaction standards. The Environmental Services Technician may assist in set-ups and other project tasks, further contributing to the smooth operation of the facility.
This position offers a competitive pay range of $19.38 to $31.01 per hour and comes with extensive benefits available from day one, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance. Employees also receive paid time off from the first day, a 403-B retirement plan, and four weeks of fully paid parental leave. The organization supports career growth and whole person well-being with mental health resources, professional development opportunities, and even pet benefits. AdventHealth promotes a healthy work-life balance and offers a supportive environment where employees are valued and motivated to succeed.
Working as an Environmental Services Technician at AdventHealth requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to work under pressure in a physically demanding role, and flexibility to work irregular hours including call shifts.
