This opportunity is for a Full-Time Housekeeping/Environmental Services Technician position within the Grand Rapids campus. Employees in this role work primarily on the 2nd shift, which is scheduled Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM or 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and are expected to work every other weekend and participate in rotating holidays. Both part-time and full-time openings are available with on-the-job training provided. The role focuses on maintaining a clean and safe environment throughout the hospital to ensure the health and safety of patients, visitors, and staff. Essential duties include cleaning patient care areas, public spaces, clinical zones, and office environments using various chemicals and manual or electrical floor care equipment.

The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks such as wall cleaning, stairwell and elevator sanitation, curtain removal and re-hanging, and responding promptly to service calls. The role also involves restorative floor care, room turnovers including daily and check-out cleaning, and the transportation of beds and equipment across hospital departments. Effective communication skills and the ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions are important for success in this position. A compassionate and courteous approach is required when interacting with patients, visitors, and coworkers to foster a respectful hospital environment. While a high school diploma or GED is not required, preference is given to candidates with customer service training or experience in environmental services within healthcare, hospitality, or recreational settings.
