With a strong commitment to economic, social, and environmental progress, Sodexo partners with clients worldwide to deliver comprehensive solutions that integrate food service, catering, facilities management, environmental services, and more. At the heart of Sodexo's operations is a deep respect for diversity and inclusion, fostering an environment where every employee's ideas and qualifications are valued and respected. The company emphasizes fairness, respect, and teamwork, ensuring all team members can bring their authentic selves to work and contribute meaningfully to collective success.
Sodexo is currently seeking a full-time Environmental Services / Custodial Manager 2 to join their team at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. UNC Hospitals is a large healthcare facility with over 980 beds, dedicated to offering exceptional patient care. This managerial role is aligned with Sodexo's commitment to delivering stellar customer service and innovative housekeeping solutions that enhance the hospital environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
The position is primarily a second shift role, starting at 3:00 PM, and requires overseeing a team of 25 custodial staff members. This role also involves working a rotating weekend schedule, underscoring the importance of flexibility and dedication in maintaining a clean and safe hospital environment. Key responsibilities include driving patient and client satisfaction scores by ensuring hospital cleanliness and safety; working closely with infection control departments and the Environment of Care Committee; and managing the Unit Operating System effectively.
As the Environmental Services / Custodial Manager 2, the successful candidate will be expected to foster an inclusive workforce, encouraging a culture of safety, respect, and high performance. This role requires close collaboration with healthcare professionals and meticulous attention to hospital standards and regulatory compliance, including local, state, and Joint Commission standards. The manager will play a pivotal role in infection prevention and support initiatives that enhance patient satisfaction and overall hospital experience.
Sodexo offers a competitive compensation package with salary consideration based on education, experience, and relevant skills. In addition to salary, Sodexo provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision care alongside wellness programs. Employees also have access to a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid time off, company holidays, and career growth opportunities, including tuition reimbursement options.
This role is ideal for candidates with a passion for leadership in healthcare environmental services who want to make a tangible difference in patient care and satisfaction. Candidates should have at least three years of custodial or housekeeping management experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment, though this is not mandatory. The ability to drive results, enhance customer service, and align with safety protocols is critical. Candidates should be proficient with technology and committed to continuous improvement in housekeeping systems and procedures.
Joining Sodexo means becoming part of a values-driven organization that embraces diversity and inclusion, supports professional development, and values each employee's contributions. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a dedicated custodial team in a highly respected healthcare facility while advancing your career with a global company known for excellence in service and quality of life enhancement.
