Job Description
This position is offered by Trinity Health, a leading healthcare organization dedicated to providing exceptional person-centered care while upholding a strong mission, vision, and core values. Trinity Health is committed to honoring the dignity of every person and recognizing the unique talents and experiences of its staff. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, Trinity Health fosters a diverse and inclusive work environment where all qualified applicants receive consideration regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status. The organization focuses on collaborative, shared leadership and promotes ethical and professional behavior among its employees to maintain a high standard of care and workplace integrity.
The part-time position available is that of a Cleaning and Services Associate responsible for maintaining the hospital’s internal and external premises in sanitary, attractive, and orderly conditions. The role requires adherence to assigned schedules and shifts, with specific emphasis on cleanliness and aseptic conditions in designated areas. The associate performs a variety of cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dust mopping, high dusting, making beds, removing trash and linen, washing walls and ceilings, and using appropriate cleaning agents like detergents and germicides effectively. Attention to detail is essential, as the associate must ensure proper handling and mixing of cleaning materials according to recommended guidelines, maintain a clean and organized workstation, and report equipment repairs as necessary.
This role demands a comprehensive understanding and embodiment of Trinity Health’s Mission, Vision, and Values, applied consistently in daily duties. The associate is responsible for logging work activities accurately during the shift and managing linen distribution as needed. Additional duties may be assigned by supervisory staff to meet hospital standards and operational needs. The position operates under strict compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as internal policies including Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program and Standards of Conduct.
Physically, the job involves significant activity such as walking, standing, stooping, reaching, handling supplies, and pushing equipment carts, with frequent lifting of objects up to 20 lbs and occasional lifting exceeding 50 lbs requiring the use of assistive devices or additional personnel. The role may also include climbing stairs or ladders, kneeling, crouching, and requires normal visual acuity to maintain meticulous work standards. Working conditions include exposure to chemical cleaning agents, slippery surfaces, dust, odors, and aerosol sprays, necessitating a high level of safety awareness.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a personal presence marked by honesty, integrity, and caring, with the ability to inspire and motivate others by promoting Trinity Health’s philosophy and values. The job involves interactions with diverse coworkers, patients, and visitors, requiring emotional resilience, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt to a variety of tasks in a fast-paced hospital environment. Employees must be able to set priorities independently and work collaboratively within the team, sometimes across multiple Trinity Health sites. Shifts are primarily four hours long, Monday through Friday, offering flexibility for part-time employment.
