This role is a part-time position located in Orange City, Florida, at 1055 Saxon Blvd. The shift for this position is primarily during the second shift, running from 3 pm to 11:30 pm with rotating weekends. The role focuses on maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and overall maintenance of patient and public areas within the facility. It involves daily cleaning duties that include trash collection and removal, surface sanitizing, stocking necessary supplies, and managing biohazardous waste according to facility standards. This position requires knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proficient operation of cleaning equipment to ensure a safe, hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The role also involves using technology, such as the Bed Management system and handheld devices, to support efficient hospital operations and bed flow. This position demands careful documentation of all work performed and the ability to access and clean various areas, including ancillary units, restrooms, and offices.
Ideal candidates should have experience or the skills necessary to maintain equipment and workspaces in a safe and clean state while demonstrating excellent customer service and the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff. Required skills include basic computer proficiency, ability to understand and follow safety protocols including reading Safety Data Sheets and product labels, strong communication in English, and the capacity to handle both normal waste and biohazardous materials appropriately. Preferred candidates might have prior experience in environmental services within a healthcare setting, multilingual capabilities, and high school education or equivalent. Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Housekeeping or custodial experience preferred
- Ability to maintain equipment and work areas clean and safe
- Ability to communicate in English
- Basic computer skills and use of mouse and keyboard
- Must be able to operate standard office software
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to interact with patients
- Must be able to read and understand safety data sheets, product labels, reports, and perform basic arithmetic
- Must be able to follow oral and written assignments

- Environmental services experience in healthcare preferred

Job Duties
- Clean assigned patient and public areas daily
- Collect and remove trash and sanitize all surfaces
- Stock paper items, cleaning solutions, and supplies as needed
- Demonstrate knowledge of infection control and isolation procedures
- Operate cleaning equipment properly
- Utilize Bed Management system and handheld technology for tracking
- Collect and stage soiled linen for pick up
- Dispose of normal and biohazardous waste
- Clean and disinfect areas containing bodily fluids
- Document all work performed
- Access ancillary units, restrooms, offices for cleaning
