Job Description

HHS is a private, family-owned business dedicated to caring for its team members and providing honest, quality-driven customer service. Founded in 1975 as Hospital Housekeeping Systems, HHS has evolved into a multifaceted service provider offering housekeeping, food, and facility management services to nearly 1,000 customers across six industries. Known for its commitment to quality and integrity, HHS has rapidly grown and is continually seeking motivated leaders who align with the company values to join the next chapter of its journey. With a strong emphasis on internal promotion and career development, HHS nurtures leadership from within, providing substantial opportunities for career growth and advancement. The organization also prioritizes Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), fostering a workplace where individuals of diverse backgrounds are respected, heard, and encouraged to develop their potential.

This role is for an Assistant Director position at HHS, where leadership and a strong service orientation are paramount. As an Assistant Director, the candidate will provide leadership that supports a collaborative team environment fostering morale, passion, quality, and respect among team members. The position requires someone open-minded and ready to learn from both management and peers alike. Responsibilities include managing training, development, assignments, and schedules of team members, performing daily inspections and assessments, and coaching and counseling team members to maintain high standards.

A key part of this role is recruiting team members who embody HHS’s core values and creating a positive work environment that promotes retention. Collaboration with department, facility, and company leadership is essential to achieve organizational goals. The Assistant Director must analyze operational data and adjust strategies to meet facility, budget, and compliance objectives, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery. This role represents a vital leadership track, with most Assistant Directors promoted within two years, reflecting HHS's commitment to internal development and career progression.

Those interested in this role should have the flexibility to work a schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays. The candidate must possess a basic proficiency in computer software including word processing and spreadsheets, and be willing to relocate for promotional opportunities if necessary. While not required, experience managing teams, backgrounds in healthcare settings, and proficiency in languages other than English, especially Spanish, are considered strong advantages.

HHS offers a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off for vacation and sick leave, medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with employer matching, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and ongoing career development and training. Additionally, employees may be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved exemption, reflecting health safety standards in healthcare environments. Veterans and candidates with military experience are highly encouraged to apply. HHS is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace environment. This position is not just a job but a career opportunity to grow into a future director at a respected and values-driven organization.
