The role of the Environmental Services Aide (Housekeeping) at PIH Health is an integral position responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and attractive environment for patients, staff, and visitors at all times. The Environmental Services Aide ensures that health and safety standards are met by performing routine cleaning and sanitizing tasks within the hospital and outpatient settings. This position involves cleaning patient rooms, public areas, restrooms, and treatment rooms using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment to prevent the spread of infections and promote a healthy atmosphere. The Environmental Services Aide will regularly document cleaning activities by filling out daily reports and must be capable of reading chemical labels to ensure the safe and effective use of cleaning products.
Successful candidates for this role typically have a minimum education level of sixth grade, with the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently being essential to perform duties safely and effectively. Prior experience or training in handling cleaning equipment is preferred, as is basic computer proficiency to assist with administrative documentation. The Environmental Services Aide will generally work the evening shift, providing essential services during hours that support hospital operations and patient care continuity.
