MSK combines expert patient care with cutting-edge research and pioneering treatments to deliver the most effective therapies available. The institution is renowned for its collaborative approach, integrating basic scientific research with translational and clinical studies that continue to redefine our understanding and management of cancer as a disease. The staff at MSK are deeply committed to providing compassionate, personalized care to patients of all ages, ensuring that every individual receives the attention and treatment tailored to their specific needs. MSK not only focuses on providing outstanding care but also on training the next generation of healthcare professionals and scientists. With a vibrant culture of continuous learning and improvement, the center supports internal mobility and career growth opportunities for its employees, fostering a dynamic environment where everyone can thrive and contribute to the fight against cancer.
The Environmental Service Aide (ESA) role at MSK's Koch Center offers a unique and meaningful opportunity to support the institution's mission by maintaining a safe, clean, and healing environment for patients, families, and staff. This position is essential to the overall patient care experience, as cleanliness and infection control are critical components of a healthcare setting. The ESA will be responsible for performing thorough daily cleaning following the Seven Step Cleaning Guidelines outlined in the Environmental Services Aide manual, safely handling infectious and general waste, properly using cleaning chemicals and equipment, and supporting unit operations through tasks such as room setups and small moves. This role provides valuable on-the-job training with no prior experience necessary, making it an excellent entry point for individuals interested in launching a career in healthcare or those seeking stable employment with competitive pay and benefits. Besides a supportive work environment, team members enjoy access to tuition reimbursement and training programs that can facilitate advancement into clinical or other healthcare careers. Scheduled Monday through Friday with some alternating weekend shifts, this position requires physical stamina and a commitment to service excellence. Joining MSK as an Environmental Service Aide means becoming part of a dedicated team that values safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement, all while making a significant impact on the quality of life and care of cancer patients and their families. The hourly pay range for this non-exempt position is $23.49 to $32.46, reflecting MSK's commitment to fair and competitive compensation based on experience and skills.
