The Environmental Services Aide role at Montefiore Nyack Hospital is a vital position focused on maintaining a clean and safe environment throughout the hospital’s patient rooms and public areas. This position operates primarily during night shifts, from 11 PM to 7:30 AM, with an alternating schedule that includes weekends and rotating days. The Environmental Services Aide plays a key role in infection control and hygiene, helping to ensure that patients, staff, and visitors are in an environment that supports health and wellbeing. The hourly starting rate for this role is $20.95, with adjustments based on shift differentials, experience, education, and other relevant factors.

The primary duties for the Environmental Services Aide include comprehensive cleaning and sanitizing tasks such as bathroom maintenance, patient room cleaning, discharge cleaning, trash and linen removal, floor care including dust mopping, wet mopping, and burnishing. The aide must be proficient with techniques and equipment, demonstrating efficiency and attention to detail, especially in the timely preparation of rooms for new patients within an hour of discharge.
