The Environmental Services Aide at NorthBay Health plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary environment that supports infection control standards and promotes patient well-being. Reporting to the Environmental Services Supervisors and directed by the department's leadership, this position is responsible for completing assigned cleaning and maintenance tasks in compliance with municipal, county, state, and federal mandates. The role involves routine cleaning of patient rooms, exam rooms, restrooms, public areas, and floors, using janitorial equipment and chemicals properly and safely according to established protocols. The Environmental Services Aide communicates effectively with patients, visitors, and hospital staff, and upholds strict infection prevention policies including hand hygiene and use of protective apparel. The role requires attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and flexibility to respond to changing demands in the healthcare environment. Additionally, the Environmental Services Aide assists the department in meeting or exceeding organizational standards required by The Joint Commission, Patient Safety, and the Department of Health Services. Operating specialized equipment such as UV disinfection devices is part of the responsibilities to support optimal sanitation standards. This role is critical to ensuring that hospital facilities remain environments where patients can heal safely and staff can perform their duties effectively. NorthBay Health offers this position a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional development, within a supportive and mission-driven organization dedicated to the health of the community.
