The Environmental Services Aide role at Allina Health is a pivotal position within the Environmental Services Unity department, specifically tailored for candidates available for permanent evening shifts with a part-time schedule of around 20 hours per week across 8-hour shifts. This role is instrumental in maintaining a clean, sanitized, and disinfected hospital environment which directly impacts patient recovery and overall satisfaction. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 0 to 2 years of environmental services experience or 6 months similar work experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs frequently
  • Availability to work permanent evening shifts
  • Willingness to work every other weekend
  • Ability to safely handle infectious and solid waste
  • Compliance with union contract SEIU-4-Unity Service Workers-SUY
  • Availability to work 20 hours per week

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 0 to 2 years of environmental services experience or equivalent
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to operate cleaning machines
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and procedures
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Clean, sanitize and disinfect all areas of health care facility
  • Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms, operating rooms, exam rooms, treatment rooms, care centers and public areas
  • Perform cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, emptying trash, changing bed linen, vacuuming, and operating auto scrub machine
  • Identify and report potential and actual safety hazards
  • Report building items, furnishings, and equipment in need of repair or replacement
  • Collect and transport solid and infectious waste within the health care facility
  • Collect soiled linen and stock clean linen in linen room and departments
  • Utilize hospital equipment and supplies safely and effectively
  • Keep cleaning cart and closets organized, clean and stocked
  • Perform other duties as assigned
