Job Description
This position is open within a healthcare facility dedicated to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff alike. The organization prides itself on maintaining high standards of hygiene and housekeeping to support wellness, comfort, and safety. Committed to offering quality care and services, the facility recognizes that a thorough approach to cleanliness significantly impacts residents' health outcomes and overall satisfaction. The establishment operates in a supportive and professional environment, offering competitive wages ranging from $17.00 to $25.50 per hour for this role, ensuring that employees are fairly compensated for their essential work.
The role of the Cleaner is vital within this healthcare setting, primarily focused on executing all general cleaning duties and associated services in both resident and non-resident areas. This encompasses a broad range of housekeeping tasks including dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, and meticulous care of resident rooms. The Cleaner is responsible for ensuring that all areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness by addressing routine cleaning as well as special cleaning assignments.
The position requires attention to detail in tasks such as cleaning sinks, faucets, pipes, toilets, showers, and tubs on a daily basis to prevent any health hazards. Spot washing walls, doors, and frames also falls under the scope of duties, helping to maintain a spotless and hygienic environment. Additional responsibilities include restocking housekeeping closets, setting up linen carts, and replenishing soap and paper supplies to guarantee the continuous availability of necessary materials.
Furthermore, the Cleaner handles waste management duties including emptying and washing wastepaper baskets, removing trash and linen facility-wide, scrubbing trashcans and covers, and breaking up cartons daily. The job also requires safe and economical use of cleaning equipment and supplies, alongside proper cleaning and maintenance of the equipment itself. Handling cleanups involving hazardous materials such as broken glass, blood spills, and mercury spills are done with strict adherence to safety protocols.
This role demands an individual who is reliable, highly organized, and capable of performing cleaning duties independently while abiding by facility regulations. The Cleaner also assists in making beds as needed, arranges furniture neatly, and reports any maintenance or building repairs to supervisors. Maintaining the cleanliness of aides' carts and closets in assigned areas is also part of the job to support the efficient function of caregiving staff.
Ideal candidates for this position will have up to one year of cleaning experience, preferably within a healthcare environment, making them familiar with the unique cleaning and safety requirements of such settings. A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory. This role is ideal for those who value the impact of their work on the health and wellbeing of others and are committed to upholding the integrity of the healthcare environment through their cleaning duties.
