Employees at PeaceHealth are valued as caregivers who play a vital role in supporting the health system’s vision and values.
PeaceHealth is currently seeking a dedicated Environmental Service Attendant I for a Per Diem/Relief, Variable position, with a competitive salary range of $19.62 to $29.44 per hour. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment within the healthcare facilities. The Environmental Service Attendant I is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms, floors, fixtures, and furnishings according to established policies and procedures. This role includes a variety of housekeeping duties such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, spot cleaning carpets, washing walls, ceilings, and furniture, emptying trash, restocking supplies, and making beds.
The position also involves maintaining housekeeping carts, restocking paper receptacles, replacing sharps containers, ordering necessary supplies, and cleaning and storing equipment properly. Flexibility is required as the attendant often responds to emergency cleaning needs or additional housekeeping requests promptly. In clinical areas, effective communication with clinical personnel is crucial to prioritize cleaning tasks that support patient care and safety. This role enhances the overall patient experience by ensuring a hygienic and orderly environment conducive to healing and comfort.

The Environmental Service Attendant I must possess strong customer service skills, be able to work independently without direct supervision, and have basic computer, verbal, and written communication skills. The job demands physical stamina, including frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and moving around the assigned areas continuously. Awareness and compliance with safety protocols related to exposure to biohazards, body fluids, airborne particles, and toxic chemicals are mandatory.
PeaceHealth supports a professional and inclusive work environment, providing employees with competitive compensation and benefits, including a 403b retirement plan for caregiver contributions, wellness benefits, discount programs, and an expanded Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and mental health support.
