Job Description

PeaceHealth is a renowned healthcare organization committed to providing compassionate and high-quality medical services across multiple communities. As a faith-based, not-for-profit health system, PeaceHealth emphasizes holistic care that supports the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being of its patients and caregivers alike. With a strong presence in both Washington and Oregon, PeaceHealth operates multiple hospitals, clinics, and outpatient facilities, each dedicated to fostering healthier, stronger communities through exceptional healthcare delivery and supportive environments. The organization is not only dedicated to patients but is equally invested in cultivating a diverse, inclusive workplace where caregivers are supported with comprehensive benefits and professional growth opportunities.

PeaceHealth is currently seeking a full-time Environmental Service Attendant I based in Bellingham, WA. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitized environment within the healthcare settings, ensuring spaces meet rigorous standards of cleanliness that contribute to patient safety and comfort. As a member of the environmental services team, the Environmental Service Attendant I will be entrusted with the responsibility of cleaning and sanitizing rooms, floors, fixtures, and furnishings in assigned areas using established departmental policies and procedures. In addition, the Environmental Service Attendant I will engage in setting up furniture for meeting rooms, maintaining housekeeping carts, and ensuring all cleaning equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use. The position demands a proactive approach to emergency cleaning situations, responding promptly and efficiently to urgent needs, which is critical in a clinical hospital environment where cleanliness directly impacts infection control. Effective communication with clinical staff is also essential, as prioritizing the cleaning according to clinical needs helps maintain a safe environment for patients and caregivers.

Offering a competitive salary range from $20.53 to $30.78 per hour, peaceHealth takes into account the candidate's education, experience, training, seniority, and terms of any collective bargaining agreements when determining the hiring rate. This full-time role includes day shift hours of eight hours per shift, with access to a full range of benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, wellness programs, and mental health supports. This position is designed for individuals who are detail-oriented, able to work independently, and dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of environmental cleanliness in a healthcare setting.

Joining PeaceHealth as an Environmental Service Attendant offers not just a job, but a rewarding career path where your essential role supports the health and safety of patients and staff.
