YNHHS’s mission focuses on patient-centered service and advancing healthcare through innovative and compassionate practices. Employees at YNHHS are expected to embody these core values, ensuring safety, respect, and quality service in every aspect of their work environment. As a part of this team, every member plays a vital role in maintaining the standards and goals that drive this distinguished healthcare institution.

The Environmental Services department at YNHHS is seeking a diligent and conscientious team member to perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties essential to the hospital's operational success. This role is integral to providing a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients, visitors, and staff alike. The position involves various responsibilities, including cleaning, trash removal, operation of electric tow tractors, and floor care, all performed according to established department protocols. Punctuality, attention to detail, and personal accountability are critical for success in this role.

The Environmental Services staff member is expected to strictly follow department procedures related to cleaning and operations to maintain a safe environment. This includes setting up equipment, inspecting assigned areas, completing cleaning assignments efficiently, and reporting any incomplete tasks promptly. The role encompasses managing waste disposal effectively, including medical waste and recycling, ensuring containers are cleaned and correctly lined, and adhering to pick-up schedules. Additional duties involve assisting in sorting waste to prevent contamination and maintaining cleanliness in critical areas like trash chute rooms and docks.

Operating electric tow tractors safely and inspecting them prior to use is also a key responsibility, contributing to the efficient transportation of trash and recycling materials. Teamwork is emphasized, with employees encouraged to support team objectives, demonstrate flexibility, and uphold mutual respect among diverse colleagues. Problem-solving skills are highly valued, with staff expected to think critically and persistently seek solutions while collaborating with others.

This position requires a high school diploma or GED preferred, along with at least six months of customer service-related experience. New hires must complete a training program provided by the Environmental Services Department and demonstrate competence in all assigned duties.
