Job Requirements

  • ability to read, write and speak English
  • completion of work-related on-the-job vocational training preferred
  • six months institutional housekeeping experience preferred
  • ability to fill liquid soap, toilet paper towel dispenser and other dispensers required
  • ability to operate cleaning equipment required

Job Duties

  • carry out general housekeeping activities to keep facilities clean and orderly
  • perform all work in accordance with Joint Commission and Texas Department of Health guidelines
  • promptly and efficiently perform assigned duties and accept emergency reassignments
  • report all maintenance defects to Plant Engineering Department
  • use equipment and supplies as directed and follow instructions on Material Safety Data Sheets
  • identify and report all chemical/solution spills and discarded needles/syringes
  • assist the Team Leader in clean up and disposals as required
  • comply with University Health and departmental policies and regulations
  • maintain good interpersonal and guest relation skills
