The Environmental Associate role within University Health’s Environmental Services department is a full-time position offering a salary range of $17.55 to $19.25 per hour, with rotating shifts. This role is vital in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the hospital facilities, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The Environmental Associate is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks, which include daily cleaning activities, waste disposal, and restocking supplies such as liquid soap and paper towels. Job Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • six months institutional housekeeping experience preferred
  • ability to fill liquid soap, toilet paper, towel dispenser and other dispensers
  • ability to operate cleaning equipment

Job Duties

  • Carries out general housekeeping activities essential to keeping hospital facilities clean and orderly
  • reports all maintenance defects to the Plant Engineering Department
  • identifies and reports chemical or solution spills and discarded needles or syringes
  • assists with cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials
  • fills dispensers including liquid soap, toilet paper, and towels
  • operates cleaning equipment effectively
  • maintains safety and sanitation standards
