Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Completion of work-related vocational training preferred
  • Minimum six months institutional housekeeping experience preferred
  • Ability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment
  • Ability to identify and report maintenance defects
  • Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely
  • Ability to work full-time day shifts
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and instructions

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of work-related on-the-job vocational training preferred
  • Six months institutional housekeeping experience preferred
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment required
  • Ability to fill liquid soap, toilet paper, towel dispenser and other dispensers required
  • Good interpersonal and guest relation skills
  • Knowledge of safety and health guidelines
  • Ability to follow instructions on Material Safety Data Sheets

Job Duties

  • Carry out general housekeeping activities essential to keeping University Health facilities clean and orderly
  • Perform assigned duties promptly and efficiently
  • Accept emergency reassignments as required
  • Report all maintenance defects to Plant Engineering Department
  • Use equipment and supplies as directed
  • Follow all instructions on Material Safety Data Sheets
  • Identify and report all chemical or solution spills and discarded needles or syringes
  • Assist the Team Leader in cleanup and disposals
  • Comply with University Health and departmental policies and regulations
  • Maintain good interpersonal and guest relation skills
