This pivotal role within UHS is focused on maintaining the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of all hospital services and areas. It involves performing a variety of environmental services duties critical to ensuring that the hospital remains clean, safe, and welcoming for patients, staff, and visitors alike. The position demands a committed and detail-oriented professional who is capable of executing sanitation and disinfection processes effectively, alongside safe handling of hazardous materials and adherence to infection control protocols.

The role requires proficiency with various cleaning and maintenance equipment, including vacuums, steamers, trash compactors, carpet extractors, buffers, and burnisher machines. Candidates are expected to have comprehensive knowledge of waste disposal, recycling procedures, and universal safety precautions to maintain a hygienic environment. Job Requirements

  • high school degree or equivalency or 10 years of housekeeping experience in hospitals, nursing homes, medical clinics, or educational institutions in lieu of education
  • one year of experience in housekeeping duties preferably in a hospital or other institutional setting
  • knowledge of sanitation and disinfection processes and techniques
  • ability to use equipment such as vacuum cleaner, steamer, trash compactor, carpet extractor, buffer, and burnisher machine
  • knowledge of waste disposal and recycling procedure
  • knowledge of safe and appropriate hazardous/chemical material handling procedures
  • knowledge of universal precautions and safety and infection control in housekeeping services

Job Qualifications
