CEC Entertainment, LLC, headquartered in Irving, Texas, is a nationally recognized leader in family dining and entertainment. Proudly operating iconic brands such as Chuck E. Cheese, Peter Piper Pizza, and Chuck's Arcade, CEC Entertainment is dedicated to creating joyful, lasting memories through fun, food, and play. Known as the place Where a Kid Can Be a Kid®, Chuck E. Cheese celebrates over half a million birthdays annually and emphasizes safety through programs like Kid Check® as well as strong community support, having contributed more than $24 million to schools and nonprofits. In 2025, Chuck E. Cheese earned the "Best in STEM" award and was named one of America's Greatest Workplaces, showcasing its leadership in innovation and employee well-being.
Peter Piper Pizza offers a neighborhood pizzeria experience that features quality food, engaging entertainment, and lifelong memories, operating under the philosophy "The Fun is Baked In." Both Chuck E. Cheese and Peter Piper Pizza support physical wellness and motor skill development in children through various attractions, fostering family and community connections every day. CEC Entertainment and its franchisees successfully run nearly 600 Chuck E. Cheese locations and over 120 Peter Piper Pizza venues across 45 states and 18 countries, fostering a culture that celebrates diversity, fun, and play to unite families.
The Opening Coordinator role, known internally by this title, is an essential position responsible for setting the stage before kids and families experience the magic of Chuck E. Cheese. This role involves ensuring that games, food, prizes, and the overall fun environment are prepared and ready for guest enjoyment. The Opening Coordinator is instrumental in maintaining product quality, store cleanliness, and adherence to company standards. This position holds a huge responsibility and opportunity to influence the customer experience positively by overseeing daily operational readiness.
The Opening Coordinator must be proficient in cost control, financial accounting, inventory management, labor management, and proper cash handling and safety procedures. This includes setting up shift boards, personnel positioning, receiving deliveries with appropriate security measures, and supervising cast members. The role also encompasses ensuring birthday parties are properly set up, that the right personnel are scheduled and assigned, and that feedback from birthday surveys is evaluated for continuous improvement.
Ideal candidates for this position should possess strong coaching and development skills, effective communication, composure, resourcefulness, and strong time and priority management abilities. This position requires availability to work 35+ hours a week, including weekdays from morning to mid-afternoon and any time during weekends. Candidates need a high school diploma or GED or be in the process of obtaining either and must be at least 18 years old. The role requires at least six months of supervisory experience, preferably within the food service industry, or validation as a CEC Team 2 Trainer.
Physically, the job requires the ability to lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and the capability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull, walk, and squat during the shift. The work environment can include flashing and flickering lights, moving mechanical parts, loud noise, as well as exposure to non-weather-related conditions like wet, humid, extreme heat, and extreme cold. CEC Entertainment is committed to the safety and health of guests and employees through rigorous health and sanitation standards and operational procedures that meet or exceed local requirements.
CEC Entertainment embraces diversity and inclusion by providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. The company is an Equal Opportunity Employer, welcoming applicants regardless of race, ancestry, color, genetics, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, age, physical or mental disability, pregnancy, veteran status, or any other federally, state, or locally protected class. The position is eligible for the "Work Today, Get Paid Tomorrow" program, allowing employees to access their earned wages without waiting for the regular paycheck cycle. This opportunity combined with competitive commission plans and strong benefits makes CEC Entertainment a great place to build a career centered around great food, family, and fun.
